We have been working with Corning Incorporated for several years to plan a new home for the children, staff and families of the Corning Children’s Center. We are excited to be moving forward to make that dream a reality! Site work has begun and we look forward to being in a new home in the Spring of 2009.
There are many exciting elements in the new building including: an activity kitchen for children’s cooking projects, a purpose built children’s library, space that can be used for our many performances and family gatherings, and a place for parents to relax and peruse our growing collection of parenting resources.
The new building is being built on the empty lot to the east of our existing building. Our priorities as we begin this exciting project are:
- The safety of all children, staff and families during the construction period.
- Assuring that the high quality care and education our clients expect from us will be unchanged
Our children are excited about having our own giant “Tonka-toy event,” and are engrossed as they watch the construction process begin.
